Yesterday was a tough day at the track for me – personally and professionally. Still, it has been a magnificent meeting and there is no reason to let one bad apple spoil the whole basket. Hopefully these three will get us back in the cashing mode.

6th) ANIMAL KINGDOM had a troubled trip yet managed to finish second in his debut. The Wayne Catalano trainee earned a solid 67 Beyer figure from that performance and returned to work a sparkling five furlongs in :58 3/5 from the gate over the Keeneland Polytrack. All systems go.

7th) In a race absolutely loaded with early speed, a filly who can finish seems like the order of the day. BELLA MONETA has run well both times she has tried the turf. The Nick Canani trainee comes off a big allowance win at Arlington Park and offers a juicy 10-1 morning line price.

10th) In for a tag for the first time and dropping back from a route to sprint, FIRST WHIPPOORWILL has some solid angles in her favor. Couple that with her good speed figure and top connections and you have a recipe for success in the nightcap.
