Horses I Like @ #MillionXXX
August 17th, 2012by Jude T. Feld
Here’s the list of horses I am considering for wagers on Saturday at Arlington Park. It looks like, “weather clear – track fast,” for the thirtieth running of one of racing’s most prestigious events. Good luck to one and all and in those immortal words of the magnificent Harvey Pack, “May the horse be with you!”
Race 7) JAKKALBERRY has been keeping top company in Europe and the United Arab Emirates. The American St. Leger field is much softer than he has faced in some time. Look for a top effort from the Marco Botti trainee under top jockey Colm O’Donoghue.
Race 8) BAYRIR gets a nifty break in the weights from his U.S. foes, SILVER MAX and SUMMER FRONT. He comes off a victory in a French Group 2 going the mile and a quarter distance of the Secretariat (G1) and is well spotted for a big race.
Race 10) I’M A DREAMER has faced many top Euros in her career, including Queen Elizabeth’s stable star, Carlton House. Her form to that one towers over even the best of this talented field and if she is anywhere near her 8-1 morning line price, she is an excellent wager in the Beverly D. (G1). ARUNA, MYSTICAL STAR and MARKETING MIX all have things to like about them and should be considered in all horizontal and vertical bets.
Race 11) BOISTEROUS ran very well against a speed bias in the Arlington Handicap (G3). He has trained like his tail is on fire since, and seems perfectly capable of winning the Arlington Million (G1) for Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey and the Phipps family. CRACKERJACK KING does his best running in Italy. He has loads of talent and could be the surprise package here.
