It has been a grand meeting, the best I have attended in the last nine years. Hopefully this space has helped you win some money and learn more about the game. Breeders’ Cup coverage begins next week and by all accounts it should be a special time for Thoroughbred racing.

1st) LETTERS FOR LUNCH comes off a sharp second versus tougher starter allowance company and drops into a claimer here. The grey daughter of Alphabet Soup has been effective at this distance and having Robby Albarado in the saddle only enhances her chances.

6th) Exiting a fast $50,000 claiming event at the meeting, TANGLED SHEETS dips in for $40,000 this afternoon in search of a victory. The daughter of Candy Ride owns the best last-race Beyer speed figure and she won two races over the track at the spring meeting. Her 8-1 morning line is juicy.

8th) In a race loaded with speed, SENIGA has the ability to finish. The daughter of Military is best on the lawn and comes off a narrow loss in the Kentucky Cup Ladies at Kentucky Downs versus a solid field. She’ll be a square price too.

9th) SUCCESSFUL DAN ran a corker here on October 9, winning by seven lengths and earning a 101 Beyer. He came back to work impressively on October 22 indicating he retains his sharpness and his trainer, Charles Lopresti, has won five of eight starts at the meeting. We’ll stick with the hot horse and barn.
